Lia’s Art for Wellbeing

I’m Lia,  a self taught artist and I run  art for wellbeing classes in Sudbury, Suffolk. I also offer sessions 1:1 in the comfort of your own home or I can meet you in a local area such as a library etc.

My classes, whether in a group setting or 1:1, provide a non-judgmental space where we can explore creative ideas together.  Just by being creative is a great form of therapy and beneficial for your mental or physical health.  You do not need to be artistically gifted to enjoy and find calm in my classes.

My classes are for those that enjoy being creative and want to improve their wellbeing through art. I believe creativity is a powerful tool we can use in learning to take care of ourselves. Creativity is healing and can help so much with grief, loneliness, anxiety, pain and a number of other things. I am there to support you through the aid of creativity

I’m a certified therapeutic art life coach and I’ve trained in the practices of holistic, creative and therapeutic practitioner methods.  I’m happy to work with all age groups and abilities.

I bring my own materials for  you to use or you are welcome to use your own.

We can arrange an initial consultation if you would like a 1:1 creative session where you can learn a bit more about me and how I can help you and I can learn a bit more about you before we work together on a regular basis.

If you would like to join my Sudbury classes please do get in touch.

Before I went to Lias Wellbeing Class I was anxious. But once I got there I felt relaxed and Calm as Lia was understanding and patient and explained what Art we were going to be doing with no judgement. The two hours were very enjoyable learning new Art Projects and chatting to Lia and the other people in the group . I forgot about my worries and came away very chilled. I am looking forward to going again.

As someone who suffers from social anxiety, I was feeling nervous before coming to the class, but Lia soon put my mind at ease, even offering a ‘quiet area’ if anyone needed it. The activities have been really varied and the resources plentiful! I feel like they’ve really helped me develop my creativity. The instructions are always clear, and just enough to give you a gentle nudge in the right direction to have free rein with your ideas and develop/build on them. I’ve come away feeling accomplished and as though I’m learning a new skill. It’s such a great way to switch off from the outside world for a couple of hours, and it helps that it’s a friendly group and Lia is a great teacher. She’s very approachable and you never feel like you’re asking a ‘silly’ question. I’m looking forward to her classes in the winter months!

I've been going to Lia's Tuesday wellbeing class for a few weeks now. This is very relaxed and I look forward to that time in the week when I can for a couple of hours leave life at the door. You don't necessarily have to be artistically talented (my worry!) The activities are very soothing and there are good conversations with the others in the group. Lia herself put me at my ease as she is so calm and genuinely interested in everyone getting the best out of the class.

Had a very inspiring 2 hour session designing attribution cards. Lia was very well organised with suggested ideas, inspiration and crafting materials. She was very supportive and praised us for our work. The session was calm and therapeutic. Everyone was friendly and showed a keen interest in what we were creating.
