About the Service:
Mindful Care South West is a home care service that I set up to enable young and older people to continue living at home with a level of support that suits them. My personal commitment is to make sure people receive a personalised package of support to help enable them to continue living in their own home as independently as possible.
After 13 years of providing mental health care to adults, children, and people with learning disabilities, I have now started to support all of the above and older adults in their own home. I want to ensure the care people receive is of a high standard and professional. I want to offer care to people that would be good enough for my own family. I will ensure each person is treated with dignity and respect. I will work collaboratively with each client to plan their support ensuring their needs are met in a timely, professional manner.
I can offer targeted mental health support, personalised care for social isolation, mood management, medication assistance, help aid recovery with social support, dementia care and support for learning disability and autism. I can also offer support with personal care to domestic support. I have many years of experience in various settings and have undertaken training (and updated it) throughout my career.
When meeting clients for the first time I will sit and get to know them and ensure they are happy with the support I am offering before considering providing care. This is to ensure everyone is happy. If you are happy and would like to continue, we will discuss care plans and current risk. This is very important to ensure there is transparency and consistently when trying to manage such areas and achieving goals.
I am fully aware letting someone into your personal space and home can be a very daunting time and this can cause some worry. I will try my very best to make you feel comfortable with my warm, open nature whilst remaining professional.
I have an up-to-date DBS and training along with a valid NMC registration although in this role I will not be practicing as a nurse. I will be using my skills to support individuals in the community.
Thank you for taking the time to read the above information, I hope to support you in the future.
