I am a support worker and I have gained a lot of experience working with the NHS for the last 12 years. I have worked with the oncology team based in Exeter and with the urgent community response team in Tiverton and Cullompton, helping to keep people at home or return to home quicker with our support with daily living tasks, such as personal care, medications – overseeing or administering, and now I would like to extend that with domestic tasks, so loved ones are able to continue their care in their own home. I have gained my NVQ level 3 for care and social care.
I would like to be the next level of care and help patients to remain at home, with the families knowing that their loved ones are receiving the best possible care.
I am trained in moving and handling, personnel care, medications, as well as on going stoma care and catheter care. I am able to carry out skin integrity checks to help with pressure damage. I have basic food prep and hygiene training also.
