Hello my name is Abigail. I have been in the care industry since I was 16-17 years of age. I am currently 29 soon turning 30 in January, married with two step children and my pride and joy my dog Trumpet who is 2. Caring and giving is my happiness.
Being a caregiver is my passion. I love my job, I have over ten years’ experience. I have my NVQ level 3. I’m a happy, chatty, outgoing person. I love and care with all I have and am very passionate, patient and professional with my work! I always have time for delivering my best service in care and nothing is too much to ask for. I will retain dignity and respect for all needs of each different service user. Caring for your family members, nothing will be too much and I will love care and respect them like my own family member.
I started my first job in the community caring with a company owned by a friend and I was under 18 so had to work alongside experienced carers. I really took pride in leaving the clients’ houses knowing how I’d helped them in every way I could. I found myself feeling I have found the job I belong in and I had no intention of doing anything else in my future. After years passed the company had to be split into two separate companies, so I stayed with the company as it changed name.
I moved on to other companies and found myself working with a family friend who got me night shifts in a local care home. Again, I loved the elderly that I cared for here but had to leave this job due to my own family issues.
I never lost the love for working and looking after people so after a short break and a short time working as a barmaid at the local pub close to home, I got my health back and started working back in the community with a company going house to house to care for others . This is where I was my upmost happy. I stayed with this company for many years and I felt a connection with each and every person I got to know and meet along the way. I had to be signed off for many months due to losing my partner in a very difficult, unexpected situation that I seriously suffered with. I went back to work with a promotion to become a senior carer. I was very proud take this higher role in my job and very grateful.
I currently set my own goals and managed to get stuck into my NVQ level 3 so I have higher qualifications to make my future better and after ten +years of experience I would like to build my own career and business.
