Personalised care and support planning for people experiencing mental health challenges

Hands reaching out and joining

Care and support planning for people experiencing mental health challenges. We’ve commissioned six interactive training sessions, which kick off on Wednesday (15 May) during Mental Health Awareness Week, to develop the confidence, knowledge and skills of frontline staff to take a holistic and biopsychosocial focused approach to assessment and care planning.

It is aimed at anyone who works with people with mental health challenges, including those working in social care, health or the voluntary and community enterprise sector. It is being delivered by Health Dialogues.

Sessions will run until Friday 31 May.

This training is provided free of charge, funded by Partners in Care & Health.

This interactive training has been co-designed to develop the confidence, knowledge and skills of frontline staff to take a holistic and biopsychosocial focused approach to assessment.

By the end of the training participants will:

  • understand how it looks and feels when assessments take psychological and social wellbeing into account;
  • understand the factors that impact on mental health, including an introduction to the biopsychosocial model;
  • be more knowledgeable about models of care and the benefits to using them, including person centred care and holistic care;
  • understand the purpose of mental health assessments, what should be included in them and the responsibilities around completing them (considering all aspects of the biopsychosocial model and Care Act);
  • to develop the communication skills to collaborate with patients during assessments and in developing a holistic care plan.

This will be an interactive training so please ensure that you have access to your own computer and are in a quiet environment. Once you have registered for the course, Healthy Dialogues will send you joining instructions.
